50 Best Logos Ever examples

In this new guide for graphic designers and logo lovers, a panel of leading branding and identity design experts have deliberated, cogitated and digested to bring us the definitive listing of the Top 50 greatest logos of all time.

In 50 Best Logos Ever you’ll discover the history and creative process behind each logo’s story. How exactly did the Penguin logo originally come into being? Did the logos for global giants Shell and Coca-Cola look any different back in 1913? And if so, why did they change over time?

At 176 pages, this special one-off publication by the Computer Arts team boasts interviews with the logo designers themselves, including Rob Janoff (Apple) and Lindon Leader (FedEx).

“Even if you only have a passing interest in graphic design, it’s fascinating to see what the BP logo looked like in 1930, or to chat about how the Coca-Cola identity has evolved (or not) over the past 125 years,” say Computer Arts. “And to top it all, we’ve ranked them. What will be in the top 10? What will be number one? Pick up the book to find out!”

  1. MY FAVORITE IS STARBUCKS , THE LOGO SAYS IT ALL ,THE TASTE , THE STYLE ,THE QUALITY , WITH A LOGO AS GOOD AS THIS YOU DO NOT NEED WORDS.

  2. There’s a stark simplicity to many of the logos shown. I think that’s key to creating a long-lasting logo.

  3. I personally really like the Chanel mirrored double C logo. It’s simple and effective. I’d like the logo even more if it was on an item hanging in my wardrobe!

  4. The second installment for this book would perhaps look further into the evolution of brands/logos, how they’ve changed over the years and how successful or unsuccessful some of these changes have been. A rebrand always causes some controversy and that documented into a book would be a really great read.

Personally I love the apple brand – I like where’s its come from and the shiny, iconic little fruit it is today!

  5. Interesting. I wonder how many of these are in that Logo board game. Got it for my friend for Xmas so hopefully will soon find out!
